Daysleeper

"We do seem to play well at night, and we are unbeaten in the dark. We should introduce some new training methods and work on the players' Circadian rhythms to try to make them think it is night time before every game" - Watford manager Adrian Boothroyd

Possibly the first instance of one of my favourite ever words being used in public since R.E.M's Michael Stipe went with the magical 'C' word on their 1998 hit Daysleeper? Please correct me if I'm wrong - it wouldn't be the first time etc. etc. - it's just that I go slightly funny when I see or hear the word circadian. I need to get out more. And for the record, I believe Boothroyd is correct as I fully expect Watford to pick up their first win of the season on Monday night. Actually, I'm surprised I haven't used that excuse with my - at times - pathetic excuse for a football team. But they're not much better in the evening either. Come to think about it, R.E.M haven't been the same since Stipe used the word in question which makes me think that mystical forces are at work. Seriously, I do need to get out more.
